Asept's system for packaging and dispensing pumpable or pourable food is built on the principle of air and moisture tight flexible pouches with customized airtight fitment valves.

The pouch together with the dispensing pump forms a closed system providing enhanced hygienic control as there is no direct human contact with the contents. This self-contained, pouch-based system completely eliminates product degradation due to exposure or contamination. Asept develops and manufactures its packaging solutions in close cooperation with Cryovac Sealed Air Corporation who offers a full range of film material and packaging machines.

Protecting hygiene and flavour

There is no air inside the film made pouch which forms effective oxygen and moisture barriers of different strengths, protecting product flavour and texture. The pouch also eliminates the need for preservative agents and other additives.

Automated filling system

A vertical form-fill-seal machine is used to fill, heat-seal and cut the pouches to the programmed package size. The pouches are filled at high speed with no head space, avoiding oxidation and contamination.

Safe and easy

The pouches are easier and safer for employees to use than jars, cans or tubs. There are no jagged edges, no bits of glass or metal to contaminate the foodstuff, and no heavy tubs to handle.

Lower costs, higher yields

The flexible pouches are easily changed, ensuring more efficient use of labour. The pouches also enhance the profit potential by minimizing product waste and operating costs, delivering a yield of up to 98%.

Reducing storage costs

The flat, compact pouches are much more convenient to store, saving shelf space and reducing storage costs with as much as 40%.

Part of a closed system

The unique Asept airtight fitment valves allow the Asept dispensing pump to be easily and safely attached directly to the right pouch without exposing the content to the surrounding environment. This also means that the customized fitment valve protects our customers’ brand name as no other product can be connected and dispensed other than the original.
